Position Details
- Position: Safety Officer
- Location: Guyana
- Department: HSE (Health, Safety & Environment)
- Reports To: HSE Manager / Project Manager
- Employment Type: Full-Time / Project-Based
- Project: Road Construction
Job Purpose
- Support implementation of HSE management systems on-site
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company policies
- Maintain a safe working environment through inspections, training, and enforcement of safe practices
Key Responsibilities
1. Compliance & Site Inspections
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and HSE policies
- Conduct daily site inspections
- Monitor high-risk activities (excavation, working near traffic, hot work, equipment use)
2. Incident & Investigation
- Respond to accidents and incidents
- Conduct investigations and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
3. Training & Awareness
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety inductions
- Promote awareness of safe working practices
4. Risk Assessment & Permits
- Assist in preparing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
- Manage Permit to Work (PTW) systems
