  • Position: Mechanical Incharge – Highway Construction Project
  • Job Code: BGMI15
  • Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Experience: 15+ years in plant and machinery maintenance (preferably in road/highway projects)
  • Location: Guyana, South America
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of heavy machinery (asphalt pavers, excavators, graders, compactors, batching plants)
  • Ensure maximum equipment availability and minimum downtime
  • Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Monitor machine performance and optimize utilization
  • Lead mechanics, electricians, and service personnel
  • Delegate tasks and monitor performance
  • Provide training and guidance to the mechanical team
  • Ensure efficient manpower allocation for emergency and regular maintenance
  • Maintain service records, equipment logs, and spare parts inventory
  • Prepare periodic reports on utilization, breakdowns, and maintenance costs
  • Liaise with procurement for spare parts and consumables
  • Coordinate with project engineers to ensure machine availability for construction needs
  • Operate and maintain equipment as per OEM and safety guidelines
  • Conduct safety inspections and enforce safety procedures
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and statutory regulations
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction equipment
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Willingness to relocate to Guyana, South America
  • Ability to work in multicultural teams and challenging outdoor environments
  • Flexible to work extended hours or on-call during emergencies
