Project Scope
Project Name: East Bank-East Coast Road Linkage Project Phase 2 (Eccles to Providence)
Location: Guyana, South America

Position: Mechanical Incharge – Highway Construction Project
Job Code: BGM115
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience:
- 15+ years in plant & machinery maintenance, preferably in road/highway construction projects
Roles & Responsibilities
Equipment Management
- Oversee installation, maintenance & repair of heavy construction machinery (asphalt pavers, excavators, graders, compactors, batching plants).
- Plan preventive & corrective maintenance activities.
- Monitor machine performance & ensure maximum uptime.
Team Leadership
- Lead a team of mechanics, electricians & service personnel.
- Train & guide the mechanical team.
- Allocate manpower efficiently for maintenance & emergency repair tasks.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain service records, equipment logs & spare parts inventory.
- Prepare reports on machine utilization, breakdowns & maintenance costs.
Coordination
- Work with procurement team for timely spare part availability.
- Coordinate with project engineers for machine readiness as per project needs.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to OEM & safety guidelines.
- Conduct regular safety inspections.
- Comply with statutory & environmental regulations.
Skills Required
- Strong technical knowledge of construction equipment
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems
- Leadership & problem-solving ability
- Good communication & organizational skills
Other Requirements
- Willingness to relocate to Guyana, South America
- Ability to work in multicultural teams & outdoor environments
- Flexibility to work extended hours/on-call during emergencies
